Press Release: NCW NO FEAR
BROCKTON- On Saturday night October 29 Northeast Championship Wrestling continues its 2011 wrestling season when it returns to the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton [233 Warren Avenue] for our annual Halloween spectacular NO FEAR—a benefit event for the Brockton Junior Boxers Pop Warner Organization. Partial proceeds for this event will be going towards the purchase of new Xenith X2 helmets for the football team, providing the best safety for the young athletes.
In the much hyped Main Event of this huge event, the longest reigning NCW New England Champion in the promotions history, Brockton’s own “Showoff” Mike Paiva, will go one on one with the BJB’s own “Sinista1” Keith Hayes, an individual who’s had issues with Paiva going back to last year’s NO FEAR event. Since then Hayes and “The Showoff” have crossed paths, with the cocky and arrogant Paiva even attacking Hayes in front of his friends and family back in August. After getting some payback at NCW EYE OF THE HURRICANE by walloping Paiva with his own New England Championship belt, the Champion filed an injunction against “The Sinista1” ensuring Hayes must keep away from Paiva until October 29in Brockton.
The new NCW Heavyweight Champion Michael “Buddy” Romano will make his first Championship defense in Brockton October 29, when he defends the NCW Title against the three time former Tag Team Champion “Dynamic” Jon Thornhill. Primarily a tag team specialist as a member of Generation SLAM, Thornhill made his surprise return to competition after a four month absence September 23 in Dedham, MA against “Simply the Best” GA West. That same night in Dedham Romano won the 2011 Big City Rumble, where the vacated NCW Championship was up for grabs, after utilizing the assistance of his new partners in crime—Zero Tolerance.
With only a couple of events left before our final 2011 NCW event on November 19, at NO FEAR we will determine who the #1 Contender for the Heavyweight Championship will be, when “Dynamite” Doug Summers goes one on one with “The Antisocial Anarchist” Tim Kilgore. Kilgore had been working through the entire NCW roster this season, with him having announced his retirement from active competition at the end of this year. Hoping to get one final shot at the Heavyweight Title before leaving, he must first go through “Dynamite” Doug, a former Heavyweight Champion in his own right who once had a brutal feud with “The Antisocial Anarchist” during the spring of 2006.
Also appearing October 29th in Brockton will be the NCW Tag Team Champions Destruction Under Impact, “The Monster” Cenobite w/ Valkyrie, Rob the Giant & Kevin Cordeiro—One and a Half Men, The Lumberjake, Richard Pacifico, “Simply the Best” GA West, The Granite State Wrecking Crew, and a special Halloween Costume Battle Royal!
The Boys & Girls Club of Brockton is located at 233 Warren Avenue in Brockton, MA. Doors open at 7pm with the show kicking off at 7:30pm. Tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for kids ten and under. Partial proceeds of this event will go to benefit the Brockton Junior Boxers Pop Warner Organization.
If you’re a member of the Boys & Girls Club you can bring your membership for an additional $2 off the door. If anyone comes to the event wearing their Halloween Costume, there will be door prizes for best costume, as well as trick-or-treating with the NCW wrestlers during intermission.
