WEST WARWICK- On Saturday night August 27th Northeast Championship Wrestling returns to the Elks Lodge [60 Clyde Street] in West Warwick, Rhode Island for one of the biggest events of the 2011 Wrestling Season, the NCW Big City Rumble! Taking a page from the WWE’s popular Royal Rumble event, the Big City Rumble is a 30-man over the top competition with the final man standing earning a Heavyweight Championship Match November 19th at the final event of the NCW Season, WrestleFest VII.
Not only will the great West Warwick fans get the chance to see this event at the Elks Lodge August 27th, but the entire world will have an opportunity to witness NCW’s unique brand of entertainment with all its larger than life characters and hard hitting action as the 2011 Big City Rumble will also be filmed for internet pay-per-view via WrestleSream.com to be aired on Sunday night September 4th.

In addition to the 2011 Big City Rumble itself the NCW Heavyweight Championship will also be decided in West Warwick when the reigning Heavyweight Champion “The Portuguese Sensation” Ruy Batello takes on “Maine’s Greatest Son” Scotty Vegas for the Title. Batello is eagerly anticipating this contest August 27th, especially after Vegas stole the Championship belt from Batello in Brockton, MA after Vegas pinned “The Portuguese Sensation” in the middle of the ring during a tag team match up.
Warwick resident Michael “Buddy” Romano looks to cement himself as one of NCW’s greatest wrestlers August 27th when he goes up against rival “Dynamite” Doug Summers in the 7th match of their classic Best of 7 Series with the winner taking the $2000 bounty that Romano had put up for the Series as an incentive to lure the former NCW Champion Doug Summers into the challenge. Beginning back in March in Riverside, RI both of these athletes they have proven they are more than capable of winning the whole thing, promising an electrifying conclusion in West Warwick.
The NCW 2011 Big City Rumble will be featuring competitors from all over New England, including Warwick’s own Steven “The Turtle” Weiner, West Warwick firefighter Carlos Arenas, NCW 2010 Rookie of the Year Eddie Loomis, Heaven’s Fury, Warwick’s “Antisocial Anarchist” Tim Kilgore, “The Juice” JT Dunn with the lovely Amber just to name a few.
