Northeast Championship Wrestling returned to Foxboro Massachusetts for NCW’s Summer MELTDOWN.
Venue: Knights of Columbus Hall, Foxboro MA
Ring Announcer: Shane Daly
Referees: Matt Calamare & CJ Higgins
Before the show kicked off, the NCW wrestlers surrounded the ring. Shane Daly announced that NCW was holding a Luck of the Draw Lottery, where the winner (whose name would be picked from a basket full of slips) would receive an NCW Heavyweight Title Match in the night’s main event. The champion, David Marxxx-Loomis, and his “dad” JC Marxxx, then made their way to ringside to draw a name. The name they chose (though protested heavily by Marxxx) was Dean “The Beast” Livsley. [Livsley lost to Loomis at last years FALLOUT, with the stipulation being he would not receive any further Title shots]
1. Singles Match
“The Unequaled One” Todd Sople (230 lbs, Manch-Vegas NH) vs. Anthony Stone (172 lbs, New Bedford MA)
After a back and forth contest, Anthony Stone pinned “The Unequaled One” with a pair of flying knees from the second rope.
2. Singles Match
Tim Kilgore (195 lbs, Salem MA) vs. Richard Pacifico (243 lbs, Snake Hill NY)
Before the match, “The Antisocial Anarchist” started to stage a sit in. He babbled on about how he thought the Luck of the Draw Lottery had been rigged and that he should be having the match with Loomis tonight, seeing as this was the building where Loomis had knocked him unconcious during their title match in the very same building just 3 months prior. In addition to defeating Dean “The Beast” last month at Payback, Kilgore believed he was the perfect challenger. Pacifico then made his way to the ring to interupt the sit in. Tim Kilgore pinned Pacifico after rolling him up and grabbing the ropes so that the ref didn’t see it.
Following the second match, Shane Daly announced that the Jon Thornhill (one half of Generation SLAM, the NCW Tag Team Champions) had been attacked earlier in the day and would not be able to compete later in the evening. However, NCW officials had granted Timothy Pittman permission to choose a partner to help defend the tag titles.
3. Singles Match
Shane Sharpe (205 lbs, Dover NH) vs. Steve “the Turtle” Weiner (230 lbs, The Dockside of Providence RI)
The Turtle pinned Shane Sharpe following his “Kingdom Hearts” Spinebuster.
4. Tag Team Match
Mr. Williams & Vicious V vs. Destruction Under Impact ["Impact" William Thorne & "R.I.O.T." Kellan Thomas]
DUI picked up the win when Thomas pinned Mr. Williams following an assisted spike spinebuster.
During intermission Steve “The Turtle” Weiner hosted a dance party in the ring and tried to get Shane Daly, CJ Higgins, and Matt Calamare to do spinaroonis. All failed but everyone seemed to enjoy their attempts.
5. Tag Team Match
Schillar Park Posse [Jack Krueger & Dale Denile] vs. The New Era [JT Dunn & Vinny Abruzzi]
The Posse and the New Era agreed before this match, that if the New Era won, Jack Krueger would have to give Mike Volpe a chance to win back the Cenobite mask that had been stolen from him by the Posse. JT Dunn picked up the pin on Dale Denile following a drop toe hold (Abruzzi)/dropkick to the face (Dunn) combo.
6. Cenobite Mask on the Line
Jack Krueger (205 lbs, Schillar Park CT) vs. “The Unmasked Monster” Mike Volpe (215 lbs, The Seventh Circle of Hell)
Volpe attacked Krueger to try to steal back his mask. Dale Denile managed to get ahold of the mask and the Posse eventually fled from the building with Volpe in chase. The match was declared a no contest.
7. NCW New England Championship
(c) “The Showoff” Mike Paiva (170 lbs, “The City of Champions” Brockton MA) vs. “Dynamite” Doug Summers (201 lbs, Panic PA)
During the match, Summers went for a standing powerslam on Paiva during which Paiva’s legs knocked out referee CJ Higgins. Following the slam, Summers went for the pin but the ref was still down. As Doug tried to wake the ref, Paiva grabbed the New England Championship belt and attempted to hit Doug with it. Doug managed to grab the belt away, drop it, and deliver his Beautiful Disaster knee drop to Paiva onto the belt. The ref came to as Doug went for the pin. Just as Higgins was about to make the 3 count, he noticed the belt under Paiva and called for a disqualification. Mike Paiva won by disqualification and retained the New England Championship.
8. NCW Tag Team Championships
“Royalty” William King & Perry Von Vicious w/ Joey Eastman vs. (c) Generation SLAM ["The Average Guy" Timothy Pittman & ???]
Timothy Pittman ended up picking Ruy Batello as his tag team partner. Generation SLAM retained the tag team titles after Batello dropped Pittman from several feet in the air onto Von Vicious’s prone body for the pin.
9. NCW Heavyweight Championship
NCW Heavyweight Champion David Marxxx-Loomis (205 lbs, Hailing from the Marxxx Household) w/ JC Marxxx vs. Dean “The Beast” Livsley (325 lbs, Willimantic CT)
During the match, Loomis was sent over the top rope to the outside where it appeared he injured his knee. Once he was back in the ring, he surprised his opponent by rolling him into a small package and stealing the win. As he escaped with his belt, it was revealed that he had been faking the knee injury!
